Burika first opened its doors in 2005 in Polokwane Limpopo as Burika IT. Burika IT was build on the principles of Integrity and Trust. The core business focus was end user support. The business was built on quality service to customers. Excellence in customer service forced Burika to grow, to employ more people, to invest in the skills of our engineers and to bring better solutions to our customers in Polokwane. We grew at a fast pace, expanding our reach with clients across Limpopo.

We invested in our OEM partnerships, aligning with international standards and brands. In 2015, we moved into the cloud services space and opened the first commercial data center in Limpopo. In 2017, we changed our organizational structure and converted from a closed corporation into a private company. Changed from two revenue streams into 5 core business units with a total of 20 revenue streams. This required more technical and sales resources, better systems and administration and more controls. After building and fine tuning the business blueprint, we started branching out.

In 2018, we opened satellite offices in Mpumalanga and Northwest. With the year on year growth achieved, we added a new branch office in George Western Cape in 2019. In March 2020, Burika opened its Office in Gauteng.
